After a couple of days enjoying Astoria, we headed east along the Columbia River. Our cabin was in Stevenson, a river town in Skamania County. A few older friends of mine may know my college nickname was/still is to some, as “Skaman”. So for me, being in Skamania was pretty great! The Skamania Lodge is a posh resort where we zip-lined for the first time. 7 zip-lines over 1-1/2 hrs. Super fun. Or as young people say “It was dope”. In the following days we visited Mt. Rainier and Olympic National Parks. Both are spectacular in their own ways. Heading towards our ferry in Port Angeles, we stopped for a soak in the hot springs at Sol Duc, another part of Olympic NP.
