Our first stop was a weekend in Oakland with Zack and Keita. And as usual, we thoroughly enjoyed their company, had delicious food and had a wild Squid Game VR gam experience. Too soon it was time to hit the road. Because it was unexpectedly hot (100+) in Shasta Lake and Klamath Falls, we went off schedule and made a beeline to Bend. My friend Frank Gjata has an amazing vacation rental outside of Bend and he was very gracious in letting us arrive 2 days earlier than planned. What a palace! He turned what was a garishly colored adobe and turned it into a Sunset Magazine worthy property. I would like to repay his generosity by giving it a plug here. It’s currently off AirBnb and VRBO but will be live again soon.
Today we visited the last Blockbuster store. Have you seen the movie about it? Amusing and funny. People come from all over the world to see it.
It’s in the 90’s here so we laid low and went to a craft brew pub and walked along the Deschutes River in beautiful Drake Park. Wonderful, friendly town, Bend. Tomorrow it is going to cool off and we will be more active. Or not. Oh, P.S., Frank’s place is 3 bedrooms, 3 baths. Would be great for Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4/20 ……
