Jasper and Banff

Scott Mayeda

Have gotten behind in the blog. We’ve been traveling south on the Alaskan Highway into Alberta. Jasper National Park is large and it would take many trips to really get to know it. We scratched the surface by spending a day at Maligne Canyon. A steep gorge carved by a strong glacial river. Photos do not convey how dramatic it is. There are so many turquoise lakes and rivers you begin to take them for granted. Jasper the town is what REI would create if someone asked them. Down the Icefields Parkway past numerous glaciers, lakes and rivers. Then to Banff, another REI kind of town. We treated ourselves to 2 days at the Fairmont Banff Hotel. Tomorrow we visit Waterton National Park, Glacier NPs sister.

Simply stunning. 😍 (Am I hallucinating, or didn’t you guys go to Banff and Lake Louise on your honeymoon?)

Yes, you’re probably hallucinating. And yes, we did go there on our honeymoon. Good memory!

Jenny, when you get your Promaster RV, you can go to most of the places we went. We’ve seen many of them on our trip. The woman who dyed my hair has been traveling by herself in a similar RV, for parts of three years. Tell your HOA it fits in your driveway.
