We spent the 4th of July in Northern Cascades National Park. Blue green glacially fed rivers and lakes (big ones are reservoirs). Pretty as all get out (something my dad used to say but I don’t know where it comes from). Speaking of my late dad, we had dinner with his sister (my aunt) in Bellingham, WA. I had never spoken to her in my adult life. It was fun to get to know each other. Turns out she’s a pretty spunky 81 year old. Travels a lot in their RV, until fairly recently, used to ride on her partners touring motorcycle, snow sleds and hikes all the time. She has a beautiful, historic Craftsman home she shares with Stephen, rescue chihuahua Tater Tot and about 25 colorful koi. During the fall salmon run she will disperse the rest of my brother’s ashes in the river.
Cascades NP and the aunt I never knew.

Wow! The color of that lake! What a sweet reconnection with your aunt. ❤️
It was wonderful to reconnect with Scott and Dawn, really a loving couple. It’s amazing how little we knew of each other until we sat and talked …and listened! Thank you for stopping by Bellingham to visit me. Looking forward to seeing you again😊
